TGIF! We made it through another week, and a lot of snow continues to melt! Most of it should be gone by the end of this weekend as milder temperatures will continue. We will have to dodge some rain at times, so let’s break it down:
ROUND 1 — Friday Afternoon
Expect rain showers to move in for our southern counties as one piece of energy slides across the Tennessee Valley and brings showers later in the afternoon into the evening. Rainfall amounts don’t look too impressive. Afternoon highs should generally be in the 40’s.
ROUND 2 — Overnight Friday Into Saturday
The next round of rain will be a bit more widespread, but again, light overall in terms of intensity. We will see rain showers move across the region through the first half of your day on Saturday before we dry out in the afternoon. Highs should get into the 50’s for most on Saturday. No heavy rain is expected.
ROUND 3 — Saturday Night Into Sunday
We project another round of steadier, heavier rain to move in late Saturday Night into Sunday. In fact, several hours of moderate to heavy rain are likely along and south of US-50. Models have trended slightly north, so we will watch the latest trends. Rainfall amounts over 1″ are possible with this wave of precipitation. Temperatures will remain mild enough to keep everything in the form of rain. Flooding remains a potential to the south of US-50 as of right now.
Also, check out these highs for Sunday! This is why most of the snow should be gone, expect for those mounds of snow in the driveways and parking lots!
Stay tuned for the forecast through the weekend!
